Overview

SCIS Pony Club has been evolving steadily over the years.
We have a dozen horses stabled at the school at any given time with students as young as four participating in our riding classes. The club is affiliated to the ADECRUZ (Asociación de Deportes Ecuestres de Santa Cruz) and some of our riders participate in showjumping competitions at local and national levels.
However, our principal aim is to promote the acquisition of basic riding skills and a love of horses among our students.

Goals

Our beginning riders learn the different gaits and develop equilibrium gradually until they gain the capacity to fully control a horse.
Those interested and motivated to do so then move on to advanced riding and jumping.
Some parents stable their own horses here at the school.

Competitions

Normally, to participate in Departmental and National showjumping competitions, students should own or rent their own horses. Internal riding and jumping activities are conducted with school horses.

This year we have had a school team participating in various regional jumping events.

Staff

We have a staff of four full time employees in our stables led by Mr Edmundo Perez who is our chief riding instructor and stable manager.
